Position Summary:  Under the direction of the Senior Program Director, the Aquatics Coordinator assists in organizing and implementing high quality YMCA Aquatic programs.  Works with the Senior Program Director and Branch Executive Director to provide coordination, instruction, and motivation for aquatics staff in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures and creates a safe and positive atmosphere that promotes member safety and engagement.

 

Bus Driver

Position Summary:  Under the direction of the Childcare Director, the Bus Driver provides safe transportation to and from program sites while maintaining a supportive, positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals.

Qualifications:

  • One-year experience driving a mini-bus or bus.
  • Valid NC Driver’s License for mini-bus or valid CDL for bus; CDL preferred, or willingness to obtain CDL.
  • Knowledge of the rules/guidelines related to commercial passenger vehicles (bus).
  • Certifications required within 30 days of hire: CPR and First Aid.
  • Desire and ability to work with children.
  • Track record of building relationships with staff, volunteers, and parents.

 

Current position open is approximately 8 hours per week, picking children from local schools (2:15 pm to 3:45 pm).

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Senior Program Director, the Front Desk Representative delivers excellent customer service to all members, guests and program participants.  Responsibilities include responding to member and guest needs, promoting membership and programs, and maintaining cleanliness and organization of the lobby and front desk areas.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Adheres and complies with the YMCA of High Point Employee Manual, Policy & Procedures Manual, and Code of Conduct.
  2. Provides excellent customer service to members, guests and program participants in the Y and on the phone, contributing to member retention.
  3. Builds relationships with members, helps members connect with one another and the YMCA.
  4. Handles and resolves membership concerns and informs supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues.
  5. Processes membership and program payments accurately.
  6. Conducts membership tours of the facility.
  7. Assists with general clerical work as needed.
  8. Maintains a neat, clean lobby and front desk area.
  9. Attends all staff meetings, in-service trainings and other meetings as required by supervisor.
  10. Conducts behavior at all times in a professional manner to reflect positively on the YMCA.
  11. Perform other duties and tasks as requested by immediate supervisor to facilitate efficient and effective production of the YMCA.
 

Group Exercise Instructor

Qualifications:

  • Must have possession of a valid American Red Cross CPR-PR and First-Aid Training Certification.
  • Knowledge of facility rules, policies and procedures.
  • Ability to develop and maintain high levels of customer service with members and guests.
  • The ability to represent the YMCA in a mature and professional manner, holding true to a commitment to the YMCA’s values, philosophies and ideals.

  • Must have possession of a valid American Red Cross CPR-PR and First-Aid Training Certification.
  • Complete knowledge and application of lifeguard rescue and surveillance techniques.
  • Knowledge of facility rules, policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of correct swim strokes and ability to instruct swim lessons.
  • Ability to develop and maintain high levels of customer service with members and guests.

Position Summary:  Under the direction of the Branch Executive Director, the Sports Coordinator assists with the day to day operations of the youth and adult sports programs, ensuring the programs meet their goals in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures and creates a safe and positive atmosphere that promotes member safety and engagement.

Qualifications:

  1. Minimum age of 21.
  2. Basic knowledge of rules, regulations and implementation of the following sports and sports leagues: youth and adult basketball, youth soccer, youth t-ball, and youth and adult volleyball.
  3. Completion within 30 days of hire CPR/First Aid/O2 Certifications. Redwoods Trainings: Managing Your Risk of Exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens, Child Sexual Abuse Prevention and Appropriate Touch.
  4. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
  5. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
  6. Basic computer/typing skills and demonstrated ability to utilize standard office software.
  7. Valid NC Driver’s License.
  8. Must be available to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
