Friends of the Y

The story of the YMCA of High Point is one of neighbors coming together to build a strong and vibrant community in High Point.

The Friends of the Y Campaign is strengthening our community, one life at a time! We are always for youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. At the Y, we are changing lives one at a time. We believe everyone belongs, and we believe in potential. When we work as one, we build a stronger community. Financial assistance keeps the Y available for kids, families and individuals who need us most. Every day, we work to make sure that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive.

Teen Programs

The YMCA of High Point serves our community’s teens, helping them reach their full potential. From character-building sports and camp programs to more structured learning and civic
engagement programs that promote positive life skills, the Y is committed to helping families raise healthy, happy, well-rounded young people.
• Free Summer Membership to every 13-17 year-old in the service area

Water Safety

The YMCA of High Point facilitates aquatics programs which not only help teach our community to swim, but also foster increased self-esteem and confidence. The programs educate children and parents on how to be safe and enjoy water activities, by placing a strong emphasis on respect for water and how to handle emergency situations.

Traditional Programs

The YMCA of High Point offers summer day camp and afterschool programs at all 3 branches. Carl Chavis branch also operates a 5-Star licensed childcare. These programs provide a safe environment for children to learn, play and build friendships.

Resident Camp
