Paul has been with the YMCA for over 29 years. He received his Bachelors of Science degree from Northern Michigan University with a major in Recreation Administration and a minor in Public Administration. Paul has served several YMCAs throughout the nation including as a as the Executive Director with the YMCA of Greater Charlotte for 8 years and as the District Executive Director with the YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids, responsible for three YMCA branches and two Program Centers. Paul has three daughters, Anna, Hope and Abigail.

Since joining the High Point YMCA team in 2018, Leah has served in several roles that have deepened her commitment to the YMCA’s mission. As Director of Operations for Aquatics, Membership, and Health & Wellness at the Hartley Drive Family YMCA, she is passionate about helping people build healthier spirits, minds, and bodies. Leah holds both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. She and her husband, Donald, have been together since high school and enjoy spending their free time exploring the outdoors and seeking new adventures.

With more than 12 years of experience in the YMCA movement, Branson brings a passion for youth development, healthy living, and community impact to his role. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Sports Management with a minor in History from Guilford College, where he was a member of the football team. His YMCA career began as a part-time staff member at the Randolph-Asheboro YMCA, working across multiple departments and building a strong foundation in YMCA operations and member services. Throughout his career, he has served in leadership roles including Child Care Director, Sports Director, and Program Director, overseeing Child Care, Sports, Marketing, and Membership operations. He is passionate about creating opportunities for youth and families to grow, connect, and thrive through YMCA programs and services while advancing the YMCA’s mission in the community. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Jenny. Together for more than 10 years, they are proud parents of two children, Callen and Emory.

Kara has been a dedicated member of the YMCA of High Point team for 32 years. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Appalachian State University and has spent more than 25 years inspiring members as a group exercise instructor at the Hartley YMCA. Throughout her career, Kara has also led new employee orientations for the YMCA of Greensboro for six years and served on the Membership Faculty for YMCA of the USA. Her favorite YMCA memory is meeting her husband, Shawn, right here at the Y—a testament to the meaningful connections that make the YMCA so special.

Elijah Smith currently serves as the Association Sports Director, bringing over five years of experience with the YMCA. Throughout his time with the organization, he has worked across multiple associations, including Winston-Salem and Charlotte, where he began as a camp counselor and later advanced into a sports associate role. Elijah has a strong passion for youth development, sports programming, and community engagement. His diverse background within the YMCA has equipped him with the leadership and program management skills necessary to create impactful and inclusive sports experiences for participants of all ages. He is a graduate of Winston-Salem State University, where he earned a degree in Computer Graphics, combining his creative skills with his commitment to program development and communication.

Jeff serves as the Director of Wellness at the YMCA of High Point, bringing more than seven years of experience in the health and wellness industry. In his role, he oversees personal training programs, leads staff development and evaluations, and creates specialized fitness initiatives designed to help members achieve their health and wellness goals. Prior to joining the YMCA, Jeff served as a General Manager at a health and wellness facility, where he managed daily operations, led team development efforts, supported membership growth, and focused on delivering exceptional member experiences. He earned a degree in Sociology with a minor in Kinesiology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, combining an understanding of human behavior with a strong foundation in fitness and movement. Outside of the YMCA, Jeff enjoys spending time with his daughter, Addison, as well as fishing and snowboarding. He is passionate about helping individuals and families lead healthier lives while strengthening the overall well-being of the community.

Katie has been with the YMCA since 2018, beginning her YMCA career at the Ragsdale YMCA. She later served at the Thomasville YMCA from 2023–2025 before joining the YMCA of High Point in June 2025. One of the things she enjoys most about working for the YMCA is the opportunity to help others, promote water safety, and give back to the community. The YMCA has also played a special role in her personal life, as she met her fiancé', Bradley, at the Hartley YMCA. She earned her Associate in Arts (A.A.) degree in General Studies from GTCC. In her free time, she enjoys playing golf, taking walks, building LEGO sets, traveling on mini getaways, and anything Disney-related.

Todd joined the YMCA team in 2025 following a career in law enforcement. As Building & Property Director, he oversees the care, maintenance, and daily operations of YMCA facilities and grounds, focusing on creating safe, welcoming spaces for members and guests while supporting the organization’s mission. Todd is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and resides in High Point with his wife, Jennifer. Together, they have one son, Samuel.
