After School Care at the Carl Chavis YMCA

At the Carl Chavis YMCA, after school care is provided for children ages Kindergarten through 6th Grade. Our program runs Monday - Friday from school dismissal to 5:30 pm.
We provide a safe environment for your children to learn, grow, and thrive. Our after-school program focuses on implementing YMCA core values into our daily activities while allowing you the opportunity to work knowing that your child is being cared for in a nurturing and structured environment.

*NOTE: We must have at least 6 students from a school enrolled in after school programs to provide transportation from that school for a year.

  • Jamestown Elementary
  • Kirkman Park Elementary
  • Parkview Elementary
  • Triangle Lake Montessori Elementary
  • Union Hill Elementary
  • The Point (* Point bus drops students off at the Y)
  • Allen Jay (* Allen Jay bus drops off at the Y)
  • Johnson Street Global Studies (* JSGS bus drops off at the Y)

After School Care Weekly Fee:

Holiday Camps:

When students are out of school due to holiday breaks, the YMCA is here to help! We provide your children a fun and safe way to spend their day! 
Holiday Camp 2026 (Fee is $75.00)
Monday, December 21 - Thursday, December 24 (Camp will dismiss at 2:00 pm on Thursday, December 24)
*Regular Camp Days operate from 7:00 am - 5:30 pm
 
Spring Break Camp 2027 (Fee is $75.00)
Monday, March 22 - Thursday, March 26th 
*Spring Break Camp Days operate from 7:00 am - 5:30 pm

 

Financial:

Limited financial assistance is available for qualifying families on a first come, first served basis. Spots are limited, so parents should apply early! Qualifying for financial assistance does not guarantee your child a spot in the program. You MUST register your child and make payment arrangements in order to be guaranteed a spot.
