COVID-19 Safety Procedures

The YMCA of High Point is implementing precautionary procedures all of our branches to help ensure the safety of our members, staff, and volunteers. Please review this page to prepare for your visit to one of our facilities.

August 2021 Mask Mandate Announcement:

Effective August 26, 2021, in accordance with the most recent mandate from the Guilford County Board of Health, ALL staff, members, and YMCA visitors are required to wear a face covering while inside of the Hartley Drive and Carl Chavis YMCAs. Visitors will be required to wear a a face covering while walking around inside of these facilities, as well as while they utilize our fitness centers and group exercise programs. Please note that this does NOT include the Grubb Family YMCA.

Mask Mandate Quick Facts:

  • Face Coverings must be worn at all times when inside of the Hartley Drive and Carl Chavis facilities.
  • Face Coverings must be worn while exercising in a Group Exercise class and/or within a fitness center.
  • Face Coverings are not required while using the pool for lap swimming or Water Aerobics.
  • Members and guests are not required to place advance reservations for group exercise classes at this time.
  • Group exercise classes currently do not have any capacity restrictions.
  • Social Distancing remains encouraged wherever possible.
  • Face Coverings are not required when outdoors.

Updated Liability Waiver

All members and program participants must complete a Liability Waiver before making their first visit to the branch, or complete a waiver at the front desk on your first visit. Parent/Guardian(s) must sign for youth under age 18. Further information about our updated liability waiver can be found here

Building Entrances

Utilize the front entrance of the branch. Only one entrance/exit is available at this time.

Fitness Equipment

Please make sure to bring your own mat, workout towel, and water bottle each visit. No towel service is available and water fountains are for bottle fill only.

Cleaning Equipment

Cleaning is everyone's responsibility. Please make an extra effort to wipe down equipment and spaces you have utilized. Staff will be vigorously cleaning during the day with extra nightly cleaning and the facility will be closed mid-afternoon for cleaning. Keeping the Y safe is up to all of us!
