Afterschool Counselor

Bus Driver

Category: Transportation

Job Type: Part-Time

Position Summary:  Under the direction of the Childcare Director, the Bus Driver provides safe transportation to and from program sites while maintaining a supportive, positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals.

Qualifications:

  • One-year experience driving a mini-bus or bus.
  • Valid NC Driver’s License for mini-bus or valid CDL for bus; CDL preferred, or willingness to obtain CDL.
  • Knowledge of the rules/guidelines related to commercial passenger vehicles (bus).
  • Certifications required within 30 days of hire: CPR and First Aid.
  • Desire and ability to work with children.
  • Track record of building relationships with staff, volunteers, and parents.

 

Current position open is approximately 8 hours per week, picking children from local schools (2:15 pm to 3:45 pm).

 

Child Care Lead Teacher

Job Type: Part-Time

Position Summary:  Under the direct supervision of the Childcare Director, part time lead teachers assist with the day to day operations of a Five Star Child Care Center.

Qualifications:

  • Must have BSAC and a minimum of 18 educational hours in child care.
  • Must have experience in supervision of children and the ability to positively interact and engage with children from infancy through school age.
  • Flexibility to work between the hours of 6 am to 6 pm.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certifications.
  • Ability to develop and maintain high levels of customer service with members and guests.
  • The ability to represent the YMCA in a mature and professional manner, holding true to a commitment to the YMCA’s values, philosophies and ideals.
 

Equestrian Director

Job Type: Full-Time

Under the direction and daily supervision of the Camp Director, the Equestrian Director oversees all aspects of the riding program including care of horses; riding instruction; and recruiting, supervising, and evaluating staff. The Equestrian Director serves as a member of the Full-Time Staff Team.

 

Group Exercise Instructor

Position Summary:  Under the direct supervision of the Wellness Director, group exercise instructors are responsible for conducting safe and effective fitness classes and creating a safe and positive atmosphere that promotes member safety.

  • Must be certified to teach group exercise classes.
  • Must have possession of a valid American Red Cross CPR-PR and First-Aid Training Certification.
  • Knowledge of facility rules, policies and procedures.
  • Ability to develop and maintain high levels of customer service with members and guests.
  • The ability to represent the YMCA in a mature and professional manner, holding true to a commitment to the YMCA’s values, philosophies and ideals.

Job Type: Part-Time

Position Summary:  Under the direct supervision of the Aquatics Director, lifeguards are responsible for maintaining safe swim conditions in the pool, deck and surrounding areas and creates a safe and positive atmosphere that promotes member safety.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum age of 16 (15 for seasonal secondary guards).
  • Must have possession of a valid American Red Cross Lifeguard Training or YMCA Lifeguard Training certification.
  • Must have possession of a valid American Red Cross CPR-PR and First-Aid Training Certification.
  • Complete knowledge and application of lifeguard rescue and surveillance techniques.
  • Knowledge of facility rules, policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of correct swim strokes and ability to instruct swim lessons.
  • Ability to develop and maintain high levels of customer service with members and guests.
  • The ability to represent the YMCA in a mature and professional manner, holding true to a commitment to the YMCA’s values, philosophies and ideals.

Riding Director

Under the direction and daily supervision of the Full Time Program Director, the Riding Director oversees all aspects of the riding program including care of horses, riding instruction and staff evaluations. The Riding Director serves as a member of the Leadership staff.
