"Bringing Our City Together For A Common Cause ... UNITY"

Thousands of Americans will remember Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. by serving in their communities and making the holiday "a day on, not "a day off." Let's unite together and start our 2019 MLK Day of Service with this event to honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The MLK Day parade is family friendly, entertaining, and fun. It's also an opportunity for the businesses, social and community groups that make this city strong to come out and be recognized, while supporting a common cause. We welcome Marching Bands, Step Teams, Civic organizations, Fraternities/Sororities, Faith Groups, Sports Teams, Schools, Floats, Bikers, Businesses, Children and Adults - all who would like to participate. Come out early and grab a good spot!

The parade route will begin at Green & Meredith Streets travel west ending at the Mendenhall Transportation Terminal on Hamilton and Commerce Streets. Line-up will begin at 12 noon on E. Green Street between Meredith and Winslow Streets. Parade will start at 1:OO pm.

If you are interested in being a parade entrant, Carl Chavis YMCA cordially invites you to fill out an application and secure your place in line. The application deadline is January 13, 2018.

Parade will be held rain or shine.
