This is an entry-level developmental group with a focus on fun and team spirit through swimming.  The emphasis is on improving technique and to introduce the butterfly and breaststroke.  Swimmers are encouraged to attend at least 2 of the 4 practices offered per week.  Swimmers in this group are expected to attend YMCA team meets and are encouraged to attend a few of the invitational meets for developing swim meet experience.   1. Able to swim 25 meters of continuous legal freestyle and backstroke.    Mon.

GREEN
Ages 8-13

Coaches:

This is a competitive training group designed to teach swimmers the skills needed to be proficient in all four competitive strokes.  Skills will be taught with an emphasis on fun in order to provide an all-around fun experience for swimmers.  Techniques will be the focus of this group, and swimmers are encouraged to attend 3 out of the 4 practices per week.  Swimmers in this group are expected to attend YMCA team meets and are strongly encouraged to attend some of the invitational meets. 1.

JUNIOR
Ages 9-15

This is a competitive training group designed to prepare swimmers for higher levels of competition.  The emphasis will be on mastering the skills necessary to be a successful competitive swimmer such as: clock management, training etiquette, stroke technique, starts and turns, and training and race strategies.  Swimmers are expected to attend a minimum of 3 out of the 5 practices per week.  Swimmers in this group are expected to attend YMCA team meets and several of the invitational meets.   1.

SENIOR
Ages 11-18

This is a competitive training group designed for the dedicated swimmer who strives to compete on the state and regional level in their age group.  The emphasis will be on enhancing stroke technique, starts and turns, and increasing general fitness levels.  While success in the water is related to practice attendance, swimmers are expected to attend 4 out of the 5 practices per week.  Swimmers in this group are expected to attend YMCA team meets and several of the invitational meets.   1.

Commitment to attend a minimum of 4 out of the 5 practices per week.  For high school swimmers, commitment to attend 50% of the practices each month.
