Teen Fitness
During early adolescence teens bones, muscles and bodies in general are going through a lot of changes. This is a great opportunity for teens to start moving; get some guided age appropriate exercise; understand the benefits; appreciate their own body and learn how to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Reviewing proper progression of exercise, learning about nutrition, discussing daily barriers we face and setting short term goals; realistically to meet success.
Teens, we challenge you to try something new, a new form of exercise, a foreign but fun kind of exercise. Group Exercise Classes at the YMCA is a great way to stay motivated. These classes are for beginners to advanced. All instructors start out with basic movements, or modifications, and give the option of a challenge.
Teens
Teens 11-15 years old must complete 3 fitness orientations in order to use the Wellness Center. Teens must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Youth can sign up for a free fitness orientation at the front desk.
